A system migration moves whatever exists in the source system into the new one. If the asset master data is inconsistent, the functional locations don't reflect the physical plant, the task lists haven't been validated, and the maintenance history is incomplete — the migration copies those problems into S/4HANA, CMMS, or wherever the data is going. Except now they're harder to find and more expensive to fix.

The work that determines migration quality happens before the migration runs. Asset records need to be reviewed by someone who understands what the data represents operationally — not just whether the fields are populated correctly, but whether the maintenance logic behind them is sound.

Optago Systems covers the full pre- and post-migration data scope: ECC to S/4HANA transitions, CMMS-to-SAP migrations (Maximo, Infor, and others), legacy spreadsheet and paper-based systems moving into SAP PM, and post-migration remediation where the system went live but the data quality didn't survive the move.

A migration moves what exists in the source system into the new one — including every structural problem, every inconsistency, and every piece of maintenance logic that was never validated. The quality of EAM data post-migration is determined almost entirely by what was done to the data before the migration ran.

This engagement covers asset master data validation and cleansing, functional location hierarchy review, preventive maintenance task list assessment, maintenance history evaluation, and measurement point and BoM / spare parts data integrity — across the full range of migration scenarios: SAP ECC to S/4HANA, CMMS-to-SAP (Maximo, Infor, and others), legacy spreadsheet or paper-based systems entering SAP PM for the first time, and post-migration remediation where data quality issues became visible only after go-live.

From offshore operations
to enterprise systems.

The engineering career behind Optago Systems began not in a maintenance department but on seismic vessels operating globally. From 2005 to 2018, that meant working with PGS, Dolphin Geophysical, and Shearwater Geophysical — progressing from Marine Seismic Technician to Team Lead, maintaining complex electronic, hydraulic, and mechanical systems in 24/7 operations across seven continents.

Offshore environments don't allow deferred decisions. When a system fails at sea, it is diagnosed, fixed, and documented — correctly, under pressure, in time. That operational discipline is the foundation of every engagement Optago Systems delivers today.

The transition into maintenance and reliability engineering followed naturally. From 2019, the focus shifted to predictive diagnostics field work with SEAM Group Europe — thermographic, ultrasound, and vibration surveys across pharmaceutical, industrial, and commercial facilities in Europe and the US. Reading equipment through data, not just visual inspection.

From 2023 to 2025, Optago's founder was engaged through ABB / SEAM Group as Senior Specialist EAM Project Engineer on a major CMMS implementation for Janssen Pharmaceutical (Johnson & Johnson) in Ireland — within a fully GMP-regulated PMO environment. That engagement represents the anchor of the Optago service offering: enterprise-scale, regulated-industry-grade, directly delivered.
